N Concourse Seattle Tacoma Airport: Where to Eat and What to Do During a Layover or Before a Flight

I spend a LOT of time at the Seattle Tacoma International Airport. Like a lot of time! Not only do we have three kids who live out of state, we also enjoy traveling. It's not uncommon for me to be at the SeaTac airport {or as it rebranded itself a few years ago SEA}, several times a week. We all love our local Alaska Airlines and the ease of so many direct flights to most of the places that we want to go.  If you are flying in or out of Seattle on Alaska Airlines, you might just find yourself in the N concourse. The N concourse at SEA just completed their final phase and if you’ve got some time before a flight, or heck, if you want to get a local taste after you arrive, here are some of my favorite shops, dining and entertainment in the N concourse. You might want to get to the airport early to enjoy all of them!

GUIDE TO THE N CONCOURSE AT SEATAC, FLY SEA

I have spent a lot of time at my local Seattle Tacoma International Airport through the years and I've seen a lot of transformation. People are shocked when I tell them that I love the airport! Mostly because people see the airport as a means to an end. Kind of an inconvenience that's part of travel. But I really do love it! And while I know a lot of my travel friends hibernate in the club lounges, I'm happy to explore all that the airport has to offer!

I often find new musicians because Seattle loves their live music, but what I love are all the local brands and small owned businesses {many BIPOC and woman owned!} that are featured throughout SEA. There has been a lot of mindful decision making when it comes to the occupants at SEA and it shows. So here are my favorites in the N concourse. You're going to want to save this!

Food:

Lil Woody’s isn’t like those other burger joints, it’s cooler! They invest in the local Seattle community and are on a mission with not only good tasting food and drinks {seriously try the milkshakes always made with local Tillamook} but by doing good in the community. There is an easy kiosk for ordering, or a sit down area if you have more time. Trust me, you're going to want to get a burger and support this company.

Embarque Whiskey Grill has something for everyone! They’ve got family-favorite foods but also an incredible bar plus a really laid-back atmosphere. There's a full bar with some of the most delightful bartenders if you enjoy a little drink before {or after} your travels.

Village Pub brings a modern twist to an English pub experience. The beers on tap change every three to six months, so you’ll always find something new! There's also a full food menu, so you're sure to find something delicious!

We all know and love PF Changs, but friends, if you want to FEEL like you are in an airport lounge without paying for the airport lounge, head to the back of the restaurant where you will find a wall of windows. It's located on the mezzanine level close to the Alaska Airlines lounge, and you can access it by taking the escalator or elevator upstairs.

Pro tip: the bathrooms on this mezzanine level are rarely busy and the mother's nursing room is incredible!

Shopping:

SEA has intentionally chosen retailers that carry local goods that support local creators. And I promise you, I have seen many of these same items in the “wild” and the prices are not inflated just because they are at the airport! So do your shopping here!

CHALO is the perfect travel gift store with the coolest designs celebrating iconic Seattle. You’ll find everything from stickers, to t-shirts and travel bags and everything in between. It's really a great place to buy a little piece of Seattle.

Show Pony feels like walking into a locally owned boutique. Not only do they have beautiful jewelry and accessories from local PNW designers, they also have the cutest hand-selected clothing. There is a very small dressing area, so you can try on the clothes before you buy! I have been tempted to add a dress or two to my wardrobe after shopping here!

Tender Loving Empire is a woman owned business that supports hundreds of artists including some of my favorites that I buy on repeat! You want something that screams I bought this in Seattle, this is the place to get it! Especially if you like buying consumables and food products to have or gift. It's a good place to buy a taste of Seattle.

Entertainment:

Sky Gamerz is someplace you might walk right on by {I know I did}, but step inside and you’re transported back in time! All of the Atari game consoles are FREE to use, simply have an adult over the age of 18 drop in to collect the controller. There’s no need to buy anything either. They allow you the use of the games completely free! You and your kids can sit back and enjoy some old school entertainment. But if you wanted, there is a pretty great retro menu and you'll feel right at home with these 80's and 90's tunes playing on the speakers!

I don’t know about you, but it’s worth coming early to your next flight just to get to enjoy all of this. Or better yet, did you know that you can enjoy a SEA visitors pass and check into the airport without ever leaving on a plane? Check it out! This reel has more information on how to get a visitors pass so you can enjoy the airport without ever taking off! SEA has so much to offer all in one place! Where are you stopping first?
