Favorite Buys on Amazon Even if They Aren't on Prime Day Sale!
Amazon Prime Day is known for its incredible deals and irresistible discounts, but there are certain items I'd buy on Amazon even without the allure of a sale. Whether it's because of their exceptional quality, daily utility, or the joy they bring into my life, these products are worth every penny, regardless of any special promotions. From essential gadgets to home comfort items, let's dive into my top Amazon picks that are worth the splurge any day of the year.
Favorite Buys on Amazon Even if They Weren't on Prime Day Sale!
I do love a good sale. I know you've seen the Amazon Prime Days popping up more and more in the past few years. It used to be one day and now they do it multiple days, several times a years. I struggle with this because I do like a deal. I'm giving you permission to skip buying anything on Prime Day
Heck, I often ignore all the emails I get leading up to it since I'm an Amazon affiliate. I know there are plenty of influencers who make five figures {and more} on influencing other people to buy things. I just have a hard time getting motivated to encourage unnecessary consumerism.
BUT, if you wanted to shop Amazon, even if it wasn't on Prime Day, these are the things I always recommend and I've bought on my own dime, numerous times!
Cleaning Favorites
Messy Mouths Stain Treater
I LOVE this stuff. I wish I had it when my kids were younger. It works incredibly well on food stains. Like it's creepy crazy how well it works. You just put a little water on the stain and then spray a few sprays and it magically disappears before your eyes. I mean, crazy.
I've started buying it to give as part of a baby shower gift. It's just that good. Every household needs a bottle.
Green Machine
I don't know how we lived without this carpet and upholstery cleaner. We have one messy dog in particular that leaves a lot of stains all over the carpet and it's been a lifesaver! It's small enough that it can fit under my laundry room sink.
I can usually clean up a stain in under a minute! It literally works on everything from upholstered chairs, to sofas to your living room carpet and more.
Note: It's good for spot cleaning. If you think you're going to clean a whole room with this, think again. Rent a rug doctor from the grocery store for that. This is great for small spot cleaning only.
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
I always have some of these in my cleaning basket. I have successfully used them to clean everything from small scuffs in the paint on walls and the trim to cleaning up a scrape on my car after I rear ended my neighbor. I use them on my shoes to clean the rubber or the leather and on any surface that has a scuff that shouldn't be there. I am always impressed at how well they work.
Electric Spin Scrubber
Full confession, I just purchased this so I don't have a full review personally yet. BUT, I have seen them going viral on TikTok and have been impressed at how easily they clean. I am really looking forward to putting it to the test in our bathroom shower.
Steam Cleaner
I have had this particular model for a bunch of years. I use it for everything from small spaces like the knobs on toilets and detailing my car to big spaces like mopping my floors. I love my steam cleaner and have a ton of tutorials on my website on how I clean items {like my gas range!} with it.
iRobot
We had one of the very first versions of the Roomba 22+ years ago. I don't know if I could ever live without a robot vacuum. I still have to vacuum, but I have to do it less. Remember, I have a big hairy dog, and would have hair tumble weeds all over if I didn't have this! They have only gotten better as the technology has progressed. If you don't have this, you need this.
Handheld Vacuum
Every house needs a handheld vacuum for clean up. I have mine mounted in a kitchen closet and it's easy to grab for quick messes. That garlic peel on the floor or a petal fell off the flowers I was arranging in the vase. Heck, even the small junk that seems to make its way in the drawers. It's all easy to clean with a little handheld vacuum. If you want to get super fancy, people like this one too. It's just a little bit bigger than the other one.
Wool Dryer Balls
My family is sensitive to smells and breaks out if I use dryer sheets. But I like a little smell to my fresh clean clothes and linens so I use these wool dryer balls. They not only help with static and help remove dog hair in the dryer, I also put a few drops of essential oils on them and the make everything smell good.
For the KitchenI'm pretty low key when it comes to my coffee. I only drink a cup or two every morning, so having a Nespresso makes sense for me. I used to have a Keurig. Also, very good. But I like the taste of the espresso pods better. Again, nothing fancy for the pods, these are the ones I order religiously.
Milk Frother
I went through milk frothers like it was my job. But my trusty husband did some research and found that you need to find one that has a separate cup that you can wash that's different from the element. I was killing the element when I would wash it I guess. Since we got one like this, I haven't had a single problem. I almost always drink iced coffee, so I like the cold foam option, but on the occasion I drink warm coffee or hot chocolate, I like the warm option as well.
KitchenAid Classic
We got this stand mixer as a wedding gift 26 years ago. It still works the same as the day we got it.
Wood Salad Bowl
My kids bought this for me for Christmas one year and I get so many compliments on it. I use it for salad or for holding fruit on the counter. It's such a statement piece.
Vegetable Chopper
This thing is admittedly a pain to clean, but man is it so convenient to use! It works really well for salad prep especially. And if you were doing salsa, it would make that a breeze too! I am a huge fan!
Food Storage Bag Organizer
One of the things I got after we remodeled our kitchen was this food storage bag organizer. I can't believe how well it works to keep the bags all organized in our drawer and they look nice too. No more of those green and blue boxes looking back at me.
Trolley Bags
I have used these for at least four years and every single time I use them, someone stops me to ask me where I got them. I line them up in my cart, and each bag has a purpose. There's even a refrigerated bag for my frozen/cold items. I like the mesh bottom bag for my produce too. I feel like I can hold so many groceries in these bags when I'm shopping.
Note: If you like self checkout, you will hate these. They are not easy to use in self checkout lanes, but if you do regular check out, they are fantastic!
Dining Chairs
I refinished an old table I bought off of Marketplace for under $100. The table didn't come with chairs, so I wanted to find some that matched a raw wood look. I bought these two years ago, and they are surprisingly sturdy and comfortable for everyday dining chairs. I thought maybe I'd need some cushion pad on them, but I don't.
Chair Leg Protectors
I'd buy these a zillion times over. I used to put those little felt pads on the bottom of my chairs and in under five minutes, they'd fall off. I had no idea these existed until a few years ago, and the same ones I put on two + years ago, are still on my chair legs to protect my new floors.
Glass Jars
I became a jar person. Yep. I dump my flour and sugar in a jar because it looks prettier. I have no regrets.
Under Cabinet Storage Drawer
Another after the remodel purchase. I use this all the time! It holds all my cleaning supplies and saves space under my sink.
Popcorn Popper
We used to love microwave popcorn until the teens started reading up about seed oils and all the contaminants in them. We love this popcorn popper that pops natural kernels {I buy them in the bulk foods section at the grocery}. You can even melt a pad of butter on top and as it melts it will drop on top. It's delicious.
For the Home
Olive Tree
I like real plants, but I also kill real plants. I tried to grow an olive tree with no luck. I found this 6 foot tall olive tree that looks pretty darn realistic at a fraction of the price of others I've seen elsewhere. I always recommend this one if you want a large statement piece.
Outdoor Solar Lights
I can't believe these solar lights work as well as they do. Even in dark and dreary Seattle! I have bought them multiple times and keep expanding where I put them outside. There is zero wiring. You literally just pop them in the ground and then point them where you want the light. It's the easiest way to make a statement in your yard.
Bathroom Light
Sometimes we live with things because we think they are going to be too expensive to change. I had a half bath that had these ugly lights over the mirror and just left them for years. We finally replaced them with this and I'm so sad we didn't do it sooner. Years later, I still really like them. They are often on sale for under $30!
Fish Fertilizer
My family hates this, my plants love it! I embraced gardening during the pandemic and one of the things I learned I needed to do more of was use fertilizer. I have been using this fish fertilizer for years and it helps double the size of my plants in a summer. It does stink! If you have plans of hosting something outdoors, don't use it a few days before. My dog likes to lick the plants like a popsicle after I use it too. One bottle usually lasts me all summer. I use it at least once a month on all my plants.
Garden Arch
This was one of those, I hope it works purchases, and it took about a year before I saw results. I have two garden beds and wanted an arch trellis to span between them. This one is sturdier than I thought it would be {especially for the price} and the clematis I planted on all sides of it has grown around it nicely. I love it! I don't think it would be sturdy enough for something super woody like jasmine or grapes, but light flowers or even veggies that climb would love it!
For the Outdoors
Hammock
I have bought every single human in our family a hammock. They have even started elevating our travel. We recently went on a cruise and they were the BEST thing we could have brought with us as we stopped in every port. They cost less than a chair rental, and provide the best spot to hang.
Hiking Pants
I love these hiking pants. I went to fancy outdoors stores before we took a trip to Africa, willing to spend many dollars on new hiking pants for our adventure and these out sold the other pants I brought with me that were twice the price. They wash and dry quickly and are water resistant. Plus, they have a lot of zippered pockets and storage.
Hiking Boots
In recent years, once the kids stopped complaining as much {or were old enough to leave at home!} we started hiking more. I see so many people out there hiking in old tennis shoes {myself included!}. Do yourself a favor and buy the hiking boots. They make a huge difference. Again, I did my research and these are a great entry level hiking boot that's similar to ones that cost twice as much! They also wash up really well! I wore them in Africa and they were caked in mud more than once and they cleaned up like new each time!
Pool Float
This is my favorite pool float. You won't find me in the water without it. It has two cup holders and it holds me up out of the water enough to be refreshing without drenched. I can even put my arms on the sides and they are out of the water enough so that I can read a book.
Inflatable Paddle Board
We have a lot of water by us, so having paddle boards we can use easily is really important. These are easy to inflate and when they aren't inflated, they store up in a bag that's carry on size. We've had a few of them for many many years and never had a hole in one either.
Personal Pool
Don't knock it! This is marketed as a dog pool, but I have spent many a hot day cooling off in it on the back porch. It's another purchase that has lasted year after year. It also store relatively flat too.
For Travel
Travel Backpack
I used to just use whatever backpack I had in my closet as a carry on bag and then I started traveling too much to not be thoughtful about how I was packing. This backpack is incredible. I compared it to others that cost twice as much and it has the same {if not more} features. It fits easily under the seat in front of you too. I really like that it has a separate shoe compartment. I can fit 3 pairs of shoes in it and all the stuff I need on the airplane.
Cell Phone Stand
I will forever and always talk about this cell phone stand. I use it every flight I'm on. It's super cheap and well worth the price. Especially if you use your phone to stream content.
The Best Travel Adapter
I have several of these. They are the best travel adapter I've found.
Travel Tripod
I LOVE this travel tripod and I use it for more than just travel. I use it anytime I want to be in the photo. It has gone on every single trip I've been on for the last three years though and I will continue to bring it with me on trips. It folds up to the size of an umbrella. It's super sturdy and the height is adjustable.
