In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to get caught up in routines and forget to prioritize quality time with our loved ones. However, building lasting memories as a family is essential for fostering strong connections and creating a sense of unity. This month-to-month guide is designed to inspire families to embark on a journey of intentional togetherness throughout the year, with each month offering unique opportunities for creating cherished moments. Feel free to change things up and add your own personal family flare to it!
A Month-to-Month Guide to Making Family Memories
January: Visit the Wizarding
World of Harry Potter
Start the year with a magical adventure by
visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Whether
you're exploring Diagon Alley, sipping on butterbeer, or riding the Hogwarts
Express, the enchanting world of Harry Potter provides a magical backdrop for
family bonding. Capture the moments with photos and create a scrapbook to
commemorate the day.
Maybe traveling to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter isn't in the budget, why not bring the magic to you! Think outside of the box and create a magical world at home with candles, food and decor. Read the book together, then plan a movie night with all things Harry Potter.
Not a Harry Potter fan? No problem! Use this as a jumping off spot to take your family's favorite book character and bring it to life. This not only encourages shared memories, it also encourages reading and literacy! Double win!
February: Take Family Pictures
Celebrate the month of love by scheduling a family photoshoot. Whether professionally done
or a DIY session, capturing your family's unique dynamics and personalities in
photographs is a timeless way to preserve memories. Frame the best shots and
display them prominently in your home as a constant reminder of the love that
binds your family together.
I've never regretted having family photos done! One of my favorite souvenirs when I travel is planning a family photo shoot with Flytographer. There are photographers all over the world in many popular travel destinations. When we were traveling in Italy, I liked that it took the pressure off of me to get good photos everywhere we went. I knew we already got some with our Flytographer {and I was in them too!}, so I didn't have to worry.
Even if you aren't leaving home, plan a local photo shoot for your family. It will be a treasure you will keep for years to come!
