Planning a summer
vacation is so inviting! With so many possible destinations on the horizon and
a year of being cooped up, you are finally ready to head out there and start
traveling again. If you are looking for a great destination to visit this
summer, here are ten of the best destinations to visit this summer.
10 Best Destinations to Visit This Summer
Alaska’s Coast
Summer travels might not
make you think of Alaska, but you can find some fantastic coastal towns in
Alaska with views you won’t want to miss during the summer months. Visit
Glacier Bay National Park, or rent a luxury yacht for the weekend and visit the
Prince William Sound.
I've actually had Uncruise Adventures on my radar. There are a few Alaska cruises I'm tempted by. They are sailing in Summer 2021!
Astoria
If you are looking for a
great place to visit on the west coast, Oregon is a great place to go. This is
the oldest American settlement in the West, and you’ll find a charming sea town
with Victorian houses and an excellent spot for a glass of beer.
Bar Harbor
Tucked away in Maine,
you’ll find a paradise with warm temperatures and Acadia National Park. This
town is full of beautiful scenery and home to some delicious favorites like
lobster rolls and clam chowder.

Boston
Baseball lovers will
love taking a trip to Fenway Park, and there are tons of summer events
happening throughout the summer to keep you entertained all summer long.
Chicago
The weather is beautiful
this time of year and close to many of Lake Michigan’s beaches. There are also
tons of fantastic museums to check out and even catch a sports game while
you’re in town.
Chicago has always been one of my favorites. Check out this post from my quick trip a few years ago.
Grand Canyon
Take a hike along one of
the rim trails, or just relax for a day or two in the Grand Canyon Village. It
can be a bit crowded during the summer, but the views are worth the trip alone.
Las Vegas
If you’re looking for
great nightlife and a whole lot of fun, you’ll love visiting Las Vegas in the
summer. You can hit one of the casinos, ride a rollercoaster, or even catch a
circus act all in one day. The hotels along the strip have so many fun things
to do for the whole family.

San Diego
San Diego is full of
attractions to keep you busy for days. However, one of my favorite things to do
during the summer is looking for festivals and music in the city to experience
something truly one of a kind.
Seattle
The later summer months
are known for having less rainy weather, making these the perfect months to
explore the Seattle area! Head to the Space Needle to get a real touristy view
of the city, and make sure to stop by Olympic Sculpture Park.
Since the Seattle area is my home, I have a few more posts you should read if planning a trip.

Yellowstone National Park
Head early in the summer
to avoid some of the more significant crowd levels here. Take some time to
explore nature and go camping, hiking, or head here after visiting some of the
other sites nearby.
As you plan your
upcoming summer vacation trip, don’t forget to include one of these
destinations for your summer vacation plans.
