There is nothing I love more than watching my children devour a good book. I love to read and have done my best to foster a love of reading in my children. It helps when there are books like Harry Potter that kids just gravitate towards. There is something magical about those books that have drawn my kids in and created a desire to devour page after page. It's no wonder they have spanned the gap between generations. These chocolate wands are the perfect treat for any Harry Potter fan. They would make a great distraction during a long holiday break, for a book club treat or for an upcoming Harry Potter birthday party snack. They are fun to make and fun to eat and everyone will love them!
You will need:
- Pretzel Rods
- Black Gel Icing
- Lay a piece of parchment paper onto a baking sheet.
- Cut the caramel apple sheets into strips. You can alternate bigger and smaller strips to give the wands different definition. Wrap the sheets around the pretzel rods.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave the chocolate candy melts for 45 seconds. Remove from the microwave and stir until completely melted and smooth. Pour into a tall glass.
- Dip each caramel wrapped pretzel rod into the tall glass making sure to completely coat it with chocolate. Lay on the parchment paper to allow the chocolate to harden.
- Decorate with black food markers and edible gold dust to give the wands some definition and to personalize it!
I know Harry Potter birthday parties are pretty darn popular with kids of all ages, so why not make these to have to snack on. Better yet, these chocolate wands would be a great treat to make during a party too.
There is no need to wait for a special occasion though. Whip out your copy of Harry Potter {or buy the whole set!}, read a chapter or two and get into the magic with the whole family by making these Harry Potter chocolate pretzel rod wands today.
