Are you looking for something more than just a cabbage salad masquerading as a coleslaw to take with you to your next picnic? Try this summer slaw with a refreshing dill weed dressing. It's a real crowd pleaser. You can even make a large batch of the dill weed dressing so you are stocked all summer long.
Summer Slaw with Dill Weed Dressing
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of Sugar
- 2 cups of Mazola Oil
- 2 teaspoons of Salt
- 1/2 a teaspoon of Black Pepper
- 1 cup of White Wine Vinegar
- 2 teaspoons of Celery Seed
- 1 teaspoon of Dill Weed
- 1 teaspoon of Onion Powder
- Equal parts Shredded Cabbage, Shredded Red Cabbage, and Shredded Carrot
In a large bowl add in all ingredients except cabbage and carrots.
Mix it all together with a hand mixer and place in a mason jar and refrigerate for about one hour.
Mix together your cabbage and carrots in a bowl.
Pour 4 cups of bowling water over veggies and then drain. Add 4 cups of cold water over veggies and drain.
Shake dressing well and pour over veggies. {about a 1/2 cup per 4 cups of veggies} You can always add more later, but you really can't take any away so start slowly and then go by taste.
Refrigerate for about 2 hours to let all the flavors soak in. Serve and enjoy!
