Instant Pot Steel Cut Oatmeal Recipe

Everyone is talking about steel-cut oats right now and for good reason. Steel-cut oats have a healthier nuttier taste than regular rolled oats.  The oats are processed less than rolled oats, which means they will take longer to cook. But not if you make them in your instant pot! I've got the fool proof recipe for making instant pot steel-cut oatmeal perfect for a fiber-filled breakfast. Instant Pot Steel Cut Oats Recipe

Ingredients 

5 cups water or nut milk of choice 

Milk will give your oatmeal a creamier taste than water, but both are totally fine to use.

Optional toppings for steel cut oatmeal:

berries 
cinnamon 
nut butter 
sliced almonds

Place water and steel cut oats into your Instant Pot.


Give it a stir so that the oats aren’t all in one spot. 



Place the lid on and turn the knob to sealed.  

Hit manual and change the time to 4 minutes. 



The key to perfectly cooked steel cut oats is to let the pressure release naturally. 

When you open the lid the oats will look super watery. Give it a good mix and water will absorb the rest of the way into the oats. 




Spoon the oatmeal into bowls and top with your favorite toppings and seasonings.
