Ingredients:
  • 48 regular saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar (you can use light brown sugar but dark brown works best)

  • 12 ounces bag of semi sweet chocolate chip morsels
  • 2 tbsps sprinkles, or amount to taste
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cover a rimmed aluminum baking sheet with heavy duty aluminum foil or parchment paper (make sure the aluminum is covering up the sides).

  1. Place 48 saltine crackers evenly over the prepared sheet pan.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter and dark brown sugar in a medium sauce pan. Boil for 5 minutes or until bubbly and evenly mixed together. Pour carefully over the arranged saltines.
  3. Place sheet pan in the preheated oven for 5 minutes, the butter-sugar mixture should be bubbly when you take it out.
  4. Take the sheet pan out and sprinkle the semi sweet chocolate chip morsels, after a few minutes, using an offset spatula spread the chocolate evenly. Sprinkle with sprinkles.
  5. Cool in the refrigerator uncovered for 2 hours to set the toffee or put it in the freezer if you are pressed for time. Take out and you can break it apart with your hands or use a sharp knife to cut. Make sure to remove all the foil on the back. Package to give for gift-giving and enjoy!

You can store this in an airtight container in the fridge and it will last longer.
