It's hard to believe that another year has come and gone. It's always fun for me to look back and see what my top posts were for the year. Many of the most popular posts were actually posts from previous years. All you readers that haven't been around since 2010 are finding some of that golden content that only my mom read. So while not all of these posts will be from this past year, they are the ones that you all visited the most this past year. I hope you have as much fun looking back as I did putting this together.
Top 10 Posts of 2017
I love this story because it was a blog that Joanna Gaines was discovered on. The photographer friend that Joanna used to take the images of her home that were used gave me permission to share some of those photos with you. And thanks to some sleuthing on Zillow, I was able to find many of the before images of the home. So seriously, there is some never before seen side by side images I'm guessing you haven't seen before.
The biggest epiphany for most fans is that the clients on Fixer Upper don't get to keep the furniture. So what does a home look like after the staging? I love seeing how people live and obviously all of you do too!
I like my cold drinks cold and my hot drinks hot, and I am probably not alone, which is why this post is so popular. Who doesn't love to personalize things they use all the time? And seriously, forget the YETI cup, these $10 cups from WalMart are my favorite!
This reminds me. I need to do this again.
This whole post started when I looked at my son's feet. Seriously why are baby feet so cute and then kids hit the age of 8 and wham, their feet are disgusting! Find out what else you should be doing. You might be surprised.
I had the same Bible for decades and would not trade it in. I just couldn't. Until I found a journaling Bible that I love. I added washi tape on the edges of each chapter and my life is happier because of it. Maybe yours is too.
Can I tell you that this post brought some attention by way of the lawyers on staff at High Noon Entertainment. While you all LOVE reading about everything Fixer Upper, the production company apparently doesn't like me giving away all their insider secrets. I didn't think any of us thought that reality TV was actually real, so the mention that there is some acting on the show might have raised some red flags for them and I got a stern talking to.
We sit around this table every single day so it's probably my most used DIY of all time. I'm a big fan of using what you have and we did just that and made a cheap, well-worn big-box store table custom by adding a planked table top. If you haven't seen this, you need to go take a look. The transformation is amazing!
When we moved seven years ago, the local Dollar Tree is now just down the street. I started spending far too much time there. I was buying stuff because it was only one dollar, but I quickly learned that not everything was worth the dollar, so I created a list of things worth buying and some that aren't. Years later, this is still one of my most popular posts. If you haven't read through the comments, you need to. They are gold.
This post got picked up by Popsugar, People, Apartment Therapy and Country Living so I'd say that's pretty popular! Everyone loves a good Fixer Upper love story am I right?!
