I've got two things that will sum up my summer so far...iced coffee and a good book. I simply cannot get enough. Last summer, I found some double walled tumblers at my local Walmart and I am obsessed with spray painting them and adding vinyl. Not only do I love personalizing them, I love that they keep cold things cold {like my current favorite, Folgers Simply Gourmet Natural Caramel coffee} and hot things hot. Plus, you can pick up all the supplies you need to make them, including all four great flavors {chocolate, caramel, vanilla and cinnamon} of Folgers new Simply Gourmet coffee while shopping at Walmart. I get compliments all the time on my spray painted coffee tumblers and people are always amazed when I tell them that I made them. Don't miss out, I'm going to show you how you can make your own!
Spray Painted Coffee Tumbler DIY
I was shopping at my local Walmart after picking up coffee in the coffee aisle {a small slice of heaven on earth!}, I dropped over to the cups and mugs and saw this amazing rose gold double wall stainless steel tumbler. I couldn't pass it up and decided to make a new summer iced coffee mug. I can literally put ice in it in the morning and by the evening, the ice cubes are still there. It's some kind of magic if you ask me.
I already had some spray paint and sealer, so forgive me for glossing over the details of the supplies. You can find everything you need in this post with more in depth instructions. Really, the most important supply is probably the iced coffee if I'm being honest!
I love my spray paint turn table. I lightly sprayed just one coat on to my cup, leaving a peek of the rose gold showing at the bottom.
While the cup was drying, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out some vinyl. I decided to layer my image and use two colors, gold and white. For more information on using vinyl, you can reference this post.
Once the two pieces of vinyl were layered, I used transfer tape and placed it where I wanted on my cold cup tumbler.
You are going to need to seal your vinyl and your spray paint with this sealer to keep the paint from chipping and the vinyl from peeling. I found mine at Walmart in the paint aisle. Follow the directions on the sealer. I used three coats.
Let your mug dry overnight and then wash it well with soap and water. The cups I made more than a year ago and use daily, are holding up really well. I always hand wash them so that may increase their life-cycle. I add my favorite coffee and sip all day long! Like I said, this tumbler will keep cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot all day long. It's kind of amazing.

What a cute idea. I loved how you spray painted them. I will have to try this. Also, I am a coffee lover too.
I've never thought to spray paint a cup or tumbler before, but I love the effect you created on this one! So cool!
Darling idea. You said there'd be more detailed info about the supplies, but I couldn't find it in your post. What type of sealer did you use & is any spray paint okay or do you need something that's somehow "food safe" or non-toxic??? I know it's on the outside of the cup, but . . .
The full details of the how to, can be found in this post from last summer. I still use these cups daily and they have held up well through daily washings. Let me know if you have any other questions after you read the post with the tutorial: http://www.rachelteodoro.com/2016/08/ombre-spray-painted-glitter-cold-cup.html
