I must confess, I'm not that big of a breakfast foods fan. I am usually happy with a bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee, but I feel like in my home, I am the minority. We've all heard it said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and with kids heading off to school in the mornings, I want to make sure they start off their day on the right foot. I love that you can make this cinnamon waffle mixture and store it in your fridge for up to a week so that you can have fresh waffles made hot every morning!
Top your waffles with some fresh fruit and you have a great start to your morning!
Cinnamon Waffles
Ingredients
2 Cups flour
2 Cups milk
5 Tbsps cinnamon
2 Eggs
3 Tbsps butter
¼ Cup sugar
Dash of salt
1 Cup strawberries {or other fresh fruit}
Directions
Preheat the waffle maker to medium-high heat.
Grease with 1 tbsp of butter.
Place the flour, milk, cinnamon, eggs, butter, sugar, and salt into a large bowl.
Stir for 2 minutes or until thick.
Pour the batter into the waffle maker.
Cook for 2 – 3 minutes.
Cut the strawberries in the half.
Garnish the waffles with strawberries.
Serve and enjoy.
Your family will love starting their day with something warm and fresh and you will love knowing that you sent them off to face the world prepared.
Don't forget to seal and cover any remaining batter and refrigerate it so that you can have fresh waffles for up to a week! In the morning, give your waffle batter a good stir while you heat up your waffle maker.
