Welcome to another week of garage sale finds Friday, where I share with you my favorite garage sale finds.
This week I am squealing at some of the most amazing vintage finds in some time. You guys are going to be jealous and want to all garage sale in my neighborhood when you see them.
I had almost given up hope that I would find a barn door. I went to a barn sale and was overwhelmed by the amount of awesome stuff at this place. The lady who was running the sale said her father was in construction and when he would gut a house, he couldn't throw anything away. Bad for her trying to go through and liquidate his assets, good for the vintage junk lover like myself.
This blue barn door was leaning up on some trees. I walked past it a few times because I was just a little bit overwhelmed with all the other rusty junk around.
I probably didn't even realize it was a barn door because I didn't see the back of it. But when I picked it up, this is what it looked like. It needs a coat of paint {transformation Tuesday perhaps???} so until then, it's hanging out in my garage waiting for inspiration to strike.
And occasionally, I look at all the cool chippy rustic awesomeness that is oozing out of it. I paid $10 for the door and think that it's totally worth it.
Not quite sure what I am going to do with it, but I think it would be fun with some popcorn bags in it for his graduation party next year. I paid $2 for it.
We live in the Puget Sound area of Seattle and so when I find cool nautical stuff, I pick it up. I found a crate full of old wooden buoys for $5 {crate included}.
I have no idea what I am going to do with them. I kind of like them all stacked up in this crate for right now. And to be honest, I haven't even dug to the bottom of the crate yet. Sometimes that's scary. Maybe there are spiders, but maybe there is something awesome at the bottom. Or it could just be more buoys.
