Create a Moss Decor Box for Next to Nothing

I made a little something for my mantle today. Want to see it?
Last month I made it into the "big" city (and by big I mean, the one closest to us that has a Pottery Barn) and did some shopping.
I lucked out when I walked into Pottery Barn. I found some awesome decorations that were a great deal. See that special price? It was marked down 20% more! Love that! I used what was in the box here. And then I kept the boxes thinking I could do something with them.

I also had these balls leftover from a project last year. I love using what I have.

Our new house is dangerously close to a dollar store and I find myself stopping in at least once a week. A few weeks ago, I found bags of decorative moss. I picked up a few bags of them knowing exactly what I was going to do with them.

A little hot glue and a tivo'd episode of the Nate show helped me pass some time this morning. The final cost: around $2. What do you think?

Moss cubes? Love them! What a lovely idea.
Oh I love it!!! I live in the South where there is plenty of free moss to go around (after you treat it!). I definitely want to do this some time!
Very cute! I have a box of moss too and have been just thinking about how to use it. I love what you did..have a super week.
So original! Great idea!
You are Crazy, Lady! Using the cheapo, plastic packaging? How cheap and tacky is that? And I LOVE it!
P.S. It's really not tacky.
Fondly, Tami
