And after!
I cut the whole bottom hem off (the brown strip) and measured my daughters chest and took the top in in the front sewing two right angles. I still wanted to use the zipper in the back so I left that in tact. Then I used the brown and made two straps. Easy as that! It took me about 20 minutes and cost me about 50 cents! Not too shabby.

The dress is beautiful and so is your daughter. Good work!

LOVE it! You and I were on the same wavelength this week (though I made a shirt into a dress for my niece- haha!).
we have a friday fun finds party... if you're interested, we'd love it if you'd link up this week!
Well, that's just very clever. I'm about to buy my very first sewing machine (I do know how to sew but it's been YEARS) so this may be a great project to get back into the swing of things.
You did a great job!
I love that fabric too. It made such a pretty dress for your beautiful daughter.
Wow!! What a cute little dress!
I never would have thought of that. I'm going to have to keep my eye open for cute skirts now.
Thanks again for linking up to Make it Yours Day at My Backyard Eden!
What a good idea... I always turn skirts into aprons, I should try a dress :)
So cute! Thank you for linking up to my linky party!
I'm loving this dress!
